Biographical note

In 1760, Christopher Kilby of London, then of New York, and Gilbert McAdam of New York, joined in a sale of land in Boston. A certain Christopher Kilby married Sarah Clarke, 18 August 1726, which may account for the quartering of the arms on the shield.
