Arms: Per saltire abased, the first Gules a sun in his splendor Or, second and third Argent a fleur-de-lis Sable, fourth Azure and upon a chief Argent a badelaire Gules all within a bordure bendy Azure and Or.
Crest: On a wreath Or and Gules a sun in his splendour Or.
Mantling: Gules doubled Or.
Motto: je Ne Change Point (I do not change my mind)

Rationale

The design is based in part based on one that is associated with the Vaillancourt name. The earliest I have found it is a direct ancestor using the sun in the 1860's. I do not know the origin but I think it had been around for some time at that point. I also have and old wax seal of the sun and a family monogram. I have added the sword, I am retired from the US Army and it is representative of that. The red and yellow are to harken back to the family origins in Normandy and the fleur de lis also to represent family origins as symbols of France and Quebec.
