Registration number 20090418D
This certifies that the heraldic arms of Douglas Graham Bell are registered as an original design and described by the blazon below
The last chief of the border Bells bore the arms "Azure three bells Or". The same has been used as the basis for these new arms following the practice in Scotland that a clan member's arms are to reference those of the chief. A gold escallop has been added for difference, a reference to the armiger's mother whose maiden name was Graham. The crest contains a double reference, first to the city of Phoenix, AZ, but also to the Christian faith of the armiger as the phoenix is a symbol of the resurrection of Christ.
