Design rationale

The arms are meant to symbolize the characteristics of a guardian and tutor of a specific kind of knowledge by a key which slightly overlaps the other two symbols. The nature of this knowledge is obscure and unattainable by common means, depicted by a cloud which slightly overlaps the last symbol. The open book describes the knowledge and attainment of wisdom, and its manifestation in the lives of successful students. The crest is the alicorn, a unicorn's horn, which symbolizes the healing of the soul, which is the first stage of attainment, and is necessary before one can truly serve mankind.
