The sun in the center of the shield represents the armiger's origins from the Philippines. It is the sun depicted in the Philippine flag and Philippine Coat of Arms. The four mullets in fess represents the four children of Renato Mangahis. The two chevrons conjoined to form a letter M in base, represents the M in Mangahis while also meaning builder and protection.The crest has the American bald eagle, which represents the armiger's new home, the United States. In the beak of the Eagle, is a red roucy cross to represent Christian faith.
