Design rationale

The partition and masoning of the lower part of the shield is a repetition of an Egyptian pyramid, as archaeology and history have been longstanding passions of mine. This particular Scarab, however, more than merely being Egyptian, has deeply personal meaning to me. The tea leaves are nothing more than a way to include my love of nature and all things green, with my obsessive love of tea. Four tea leaves were chosen as I have four children. The white cat in the crest is a remembrance of a cat I had for many, many years and through some very tough times.
