Joseph Allen Duncan

Registration number 20080119A

This certifies that the heraldic arms of Joseph Allen Duncan are registered as an original design and are described by the blazon below

Arms: Gules a chevronel Or in chief two cinquefoils and in base cubit arm erect the hand holding a torch enflamed Argent.
Motto: End the Suffering

Design rationale

The basic design is a traditional Duncan coat of arms. It was proposed to me by John A. Duncan of Sketraw, KNC, FSA Scot., Chairman of Clan Duncan Society. It is based on his coat of arms Granted; Court of the Lord Lyon. Scotland and William Duncan of Seaside, matriculated in the Public Register of all Arms Scotland 1672. The Torch in Hand is representative of my American heritage as well as my belief in Freedom and Liberty for all mankind. The motto 'End the Suffering' is derived from William of Seaside's motto 'Learn to Suffer'. I have learned to suffer and it is now time for that suffering to be put to an end.
