He was Vice-President of an automobile supply company, father of one son, James William Forrester, and one daughter Barbara Jane Forrester née Mauney, veteran of WW II - United States Navy, and 3rd Degree Ancient Free Mason.

Design rationale

The arms combine the ancient Forrester arms of three hunting horns with the azure field and argent palmetto tree of the South Carolina flag, where the Armiger was a 4th generation resident for his entire life.
