Design rationale

The Hebrew translation of the armiger's first name is "right hand". The right hand symbolizes power, thus the clenched position of the hand and the armor. The tinctures represent the struggle between right and wrong, good and evil, love and hate, etc.

The crest represents the career field of the armiger; education being that which lights the world. It also represents the light mentioned in Matthew 5:14.
