He is also Captain of the 16th South Carolina Color Guard of Honor. He is an ordained Christian minister and President of the Widowed Persons Organization, Greenville Chapter. He is a life member of the American Radio Relay League, a Volunteer Examiner for Amateur Radio license, certified Emergency Communications volunteer, member of the American College of Heraldry, a Past Master of Ancient Free Masons of South Carolina, and a 32° Scottish Rite Mason. He is Commissioner for the Carolinas of the Clan Forrester Society, which organization he served as Vice-President for 8 years.
