Design rationale

My family settled in San Francisco in 1859, my family has worked as longshoreman and on the waterfront since them. I am the founder and owner of the largest yacht brokerage in Northern California.

The crest is a left arm, most McGrath men are left handed, holding a longshoreman's hook.

The colors of the shield, blue and gold, are California's. I have used the hearts because one of the translations of my name is “son of love or grace”. I have been using a heart as a badge for the past twenty five years.
