Jacob Weidle, born in Stammheim, Calw, Germany July 19th, died in Gerlingen, Stuttgart, Germany on December 3rd, 1740.  He was the founder of the Weidle family line in Gerlingen.  Today, many of his descendants live in the United States, especially Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Ohio.  The coat of arms of Jacob Weidle was originally a house mark (shield alone) that was used since approximately 1700 as a signet.
