Andemicael Woldemenkerios

Registration number 20150203F

This certifies that the heraldic arms of Andemicael Woldemenkerios are registered as an original design and described by the blazon below

Arms: Per fess épiné Or and Vert in chief a bee volant and in base a rose all counterchanged.
Crest: On a wreath Or and Vert a moor's fist grasping an angular Bowen knot bendwise Cendrée.
Motto: Truth Be Your Friend

The Vert represents the ancestral agrarian roots of the armiger's grandfather's line, who farmed the same lands in east Africa for over 400 years. The Or supports this by representing the life-giving sun shining over fields.

The bee quite literally represents the armiger's grandfather's lifelong beekeeping, starting with a hive he found at age thirteen. The honey from his hives kept the family nourished and comfortable during lean times. In this sense, it also represents dedication, and industriousness.

The rose represents Lutheranism, which the armiger's grandfather converted to from coptic christianity, against many obstacles. He became a reverend and baptized many members of the family. It also suggests a devotion to cultivating beauty and perfection through dedication and labor, as the bee pollinates the flower and helps it grow. Finally, the épiné division between land and sky, bee and flower, suggests literally the thorns of the Acacia, a native and ubiquitous plant in Eritrea, the armiger's Grandfather's home country. Figuratively, it represents the obstacles that must be crossed to achieve goals.

Info about the épiné divider, which is a custom creation.
