Badge: A vol Gules superimposed by a quarrel Argent.

Design Rationale

The cardinals on the designs represent the bearer's home state of Ohio. The stars allude to his love of aviation, the night sky, and all things astronomy based. Though mostly based on aesthetics, the chevron also takes on a traditional meaning of "protection", though this is a loose nod.

The crest directly represents the bearer's military service as a UH-60 Black Hawk mechanic and Crew Chief for the Ohio Army National Guard. The grip and pommel of the sword are tinctured azure and tenne to show the US Army Aviation colors prescribed by The Institute of Heraldry.
