Biographical information

An environmental scientist and active volunteer for The Boy Scouts of America for his entire life. He is also deeply connected to his community, Medford, Massachusetts.

Design rationale

As a man of strong and unique faith, the mjöllnir was chosen to represent his deep and abiding spirituality, as well as his Norse ancestry. The colors of blue and white were taken from the tartan of the Scottish clan Napier, also the origin of the motto. The crest, a loon rising, as from a lake, was chosen to represent his love and commitment to the Scouting Movement, as the loon is the symbol of the camp in which he attended as a child, served with distinction on the staff of, and served countless hours as a volunteer.
