Biographical information

Solomon was born in Astoria, Oregon in 1905 and died in Portland. Oregon in 1985. Solomon was married in 1930 to Annie Lee Grigor Masson, born in Glenfurness,Scotland. Solomon was in the grocery business most of his life, becoming the owner of a large full service grocery in the 1960's. Solomon and Annie Lee had two children, Roderick Stanfeld Meserve born in 1934 and Lee Ann Meserve born in 1937.

Design rationale

Solomon was a direct descendent of Clement Messervy born in Jersey, C.I. in 1655 and died in Kittery, NH in 1721. These arms include the red cherries found in the Messervy/Meserve arms recorded on Jersey. The motto, too, is that from the Jersey Messervys.
