United States Heraldic Registry

Registration number 20100101A

This certifies that the heraldic arms of the United States Heraldic Registry are registered as an original design and are described by the blazon below

Arms: Or on a fess Gules between three mullets Azure an openbook Argent.
Crest: A demi-herald vested in and a herald's tabard of the arms and a Tudor Bonnet Azure grasping in his dexter hand a quill pen Argent.

Design rationale

The arms were created by U.S. Heraldic Registry founder, Michael Swanson. Originally assumed and registered with the USHR in 2005 as Azure on a fess Gules between three mullets Argent, the arms were re-designed by Mr. Swanson in 2010 in response to several questions regarding tincture violations.

The three stars allude to the Tennessee flag where the registry was created and originally located, the open book symbolizes open registration, and the tinctures are those used in the United States flag. Supersedes earlier design with tincture violation
