Austin State University, Nacogdoches, Texas; 1997-present, Director of Choirs, Saint Mary's University, Winona, Minnesota. Conductor, composer and university educator.
Design rationale
The arms are a variant of arms granted to Odoneus O'Shee of Drangan by Clarencieux in 1381, with sufficient differences to avoid a claim of direct descent. The 1381 arms are those traditionally associated with the Irish patronymic name O'Shea and variants Shea, Shay, O'Shee, etc.
Historical note
The 1993 registration with the American College of Heraldry was to Dr. Patrick O'Shea. In 1998, the registration was extended to the armiger's great-grandfather, Michael Joseph O'Shea (1889-1971) of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, and his descendants.
