Design rationale

The family name translates into 'Son of the horse lord'. Henry was an avid equestrian and rode well into his nineties. So the horses crowned are a play on the name and on Henry’s love of horses.

Henry was also a homesteader/pioneer and the tower is a commemoration of the homesteads he owned and his pioneering spirit.

Henry was from Ulster, Ireland and so the dexter hand couped apaume is in relation to Ulster, Ireland the place of his birth.

Henry was a devout Catholic and so the cross bottony is a nod to his Catholicism and to the Christian faith his descendents have to this day.

Blue and white were Henry's favorite colors as well they are of his two great grandsons, Patrick L. McGoff and George D. McGoff.
