Biographical note

Sarah Kilby, b. 1736, daughter of Christopher Kilby, married Gilbert McAdam. In 1760, Christopher Kilby of London, then of New York, and Gilbert McAdam of New York, joined in a sale of land in Boston. A certain Christopher Kilby married Sarah Clarke, 18 August 1726, which may account for the quartering of the arms on the shield.
