Historical note

The winning design for Fisher Hassenfeld College House was a group effort. Submitted by Brett E. Weinheimer (Wharton '00); Christina Cooney (College '01); and Joel Rubin (College '03), it draws some of its elements from the traditional University of Pennsylvania shield. Shown in variations of Penn red and blue, the lower half of the shield features a symbolic representation of the three arches in the upper Quad near Foerderer hall. The House motto, "Res Publicae et Res Populi" is a Latin translation of the House theme, Public Affairs and Public Culture.
