Historical note

The Harrison College House coat of arms was first sketched out and submitted by resident Christi Electris in the fall of 2000. The most striking feature of this design is a bold white column with a green serpent coiled around it. The column echoes the "fortitude and constancy" of this popular House. When a serpent is shown coiling around a column, it represents wisdom with fortitude. The serpent's green color suggests hope and joy. A large golden sun with an elogated southern flare dominates the crest field, connoting glory and splendor as well as Harrison's location as the "southernmost" high rise. Finally, Penn red and blue provide support and balance to the overall design. The House motto predates the crest. "Non Sibi Sed Toti, " meaning "not for the self, but for all," reflects the numerous acts of charity for which Harrison College House is so well known.
