Fagan Clans Association

Registration number 20060831B

This certifies that the heraldic badge of the Fagan Clans Association is registered as an original design and is described by the blazon below

Badge: On a bezant edged Vert a pomme charged with a griffin rampant Argent armed, winged and tufted Or supporting in its talons an Irish harp Or, the bezant inscribed in chief around the circumference with “Cumann Treibheanna Fagan” in letters Sable and charged in base with a shamrock Vert between two Celtic knots Sable.

Design rationale

The Fagan Clans Association badge shows the griffin from the association's coat of arms, which is a reference to the crest of Thomas Fagan (Dublin, 15th century). The Harp of Brian Boru stands for Ireland. The words "Cumann Treibheanna Fagan" mean, literally, Association of the Fagan Tribes.
