Design rationale

I chose the colors of the shield which appear to be frequently used in Iberia, as I have ancestry from that part of the world. The lynxes or wildcats are the mascots of my high school alma mater, the pen is for my love of the art of writing, and the rose represents faith and love for my future wife. The chevron reminds me of the hills of San Francisco, my birthplace. Finally, as I was born in the year of the Tiger, I chose an heraldic tyger for the crest.
