Crest: On a wreath Argent and Sablean arm in armour embowed holding in the gauntleted hand a sword Proper.

Rationale

The bull is an old charge from the line of Coles of Devon, of whom the armiger is directly descendant through his maternal grandmother. The wing represents the armiger's service as a military aviator. The bend, derived from a knight's shield strap, represents the generations of knights in the Cole and other families from whom he is descended. The three bezants represent the three major military operations in which the armiger has served. The overall combination of elements signifies a legacy of service that unites past and present.
