Registration number 20190115A
This certifies that the heraldic arms of Richard Charles Globe are registered as an original design and are described by the blazon below
The nails represent the trade of Thomas Globe, the armiger's 6x great grandfather and family founder, 1759-1820. Thomas Globe's original name was John Ball, the illegitimate son of Sarah Ball of Westbury-on-Severn, Gloucestershire. He was handed over to The London Foundling Hospital on July 20, 1759, and following the custom of the time was immediately re-baptised and given the name Thomas Globe. The red (sanguine) field represent the colours in the flags of Canada, England and Denmark - representing the armigers country of birth, ancestry and nationality. The ship's hull represents the Globe name crossing the oceans, and alludes to the armigers personal migration from Canada to Europe. The two demi-lions represent the armiger and his brother supporting an armillary sphere; a cant on the Globe surname. The Azure tincture of the lions is a reference to the Danish state arm's lions and the guardant attitude is a reference to the lions found on the arms of England.
